What is a Student Pass?
To study at a private education institution in Singapore, international students require a Student Pass — Singapore’s official student visa, managed by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
Who is eligible?
- Hold an official Letter of Acceptance from an EduTrust-certified institution
- Meet the English language requirement (IELTS 4.5 or equivalent)
- Be enrolled in a full-time programme
- Be of good character with no criminal record
Documents required:
- Valid passport (minimum 6 months beyond course end date)
- Passport-size photograph (white background)
- Letter of Acceptance from your institution
- Educational certificates and transcripts
- Birth certificate
- Completed ICA application forms (SOLAR system)
- Application fee payment
Typical timeline:
- Application submitted: Week 1
- ICA processing: 4–8 weeks
- In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter received
- Travel to Singapore and complete ICA formalities within 2 weeks of arrival
